Alvin Sold started his career in journalism at the Républicain Lorrain in 1964, the first year it was launched in its Luxembourg edition . In 1974, at the age of 31, he became the editor of the Tageblatt. Subsequently, he became manager in 1977 after the departure of Jacques Poos. He ran the publishing group of Esch-sur-Alzette for 37 years until 2011. During these years, he mainly developed its French-language Newspaper publishings, namely Le Quotidien (a joint venture with Le Républicain Lorrain) , the weekly newspaper "Le Jeudi", and the free daily "L'essential". He is now the Managing Director of Editpress and member of the Complaints Committe Council of Press.
