ENPA's ideas for copyright in the digital single market

ENPA publication entitled "Copyright in the EU Digital Single Market: 10 Recommendations of the Newspaper and News Media sector" (May 2015), outlines the priorities of newspaper and news media publishers for the ongoing review of the EU Copyright Framework.

We feel that it is of vital importance that future proposals regarding the EU copyright acquis must also take into account the effect it will have on the provision of a diverse range of professional press products for EU citizens. For that, our ten Recommendations include the highest-priority areas for the press sector ahead of the review of the EU Information Society Directive, for the Digital Single Market Strategy and for the future of the Enforcement Directive, including respect for copyright and effective enforcement; relationship with technology platforms; activities of news aggregators and search engines; exceptions and limitations, publishers' exclusive right; digital libraries and text-and-data mining; multi-territorial licensing and cross-border access; user-generated content and contract law.
